I love queen for so many reasons, one of them being that Brian and Roger come across as warm and decent human beings - as well as being exceptionally talented (and intelligent)
Yup! How many bands were made of so many scientists and one visual/graphic artist? That's the main reason I always come back, to feed on the intelligent thinking! Plus, Roger is Dacian like me (Welsh/Valah), and Brian is Orcish like me (Cleopatra's kids). My cousins are the best! ;) :D

The greatness over here is unmatched One band that is queen which I love the most and another the Beatles considered by many the greatest band to ever do it. Two greatest bands united by music. Back then people were lucky to have and see john lenon and Freddie Mercury. Two of the biggest icons
The original is the best for me, but this is as good as you can get while not being John. The trick with 'Imagine' is that it is a song with soft lyrics, but sharp music. 99% of covers overplay the soft part, usually while prolonging the last syllable of each and every line, turning the entire song into an excessively sweet kitsch. I am so glad I have finally found a cover of my most favourite song which doesn't do that! :)
I actually liked the collaboration between Paul Rodgers, Brian May and Roger Taylor. Yes it's not Queen without Freddie Mercury and John Deacon, but neither was it trying to be. It was different. I went to a couple of the gigs on the '08 tour and thought it was brilliant. I wasn't quite old enough to be allowed to go to one of Queen's concerts on their final tour with Freddie, which really pisses me off actually, so for me this was the next best thing. This also meant that I discovered the music of Paul Rodgers, of which there are some pretty damn good tunes.

I was at this concert when I was 24 years old. It was one of the best nights of my life. Paul did so well. I got to see 2 members of Queen live, I only wish I had been able to see Freddie 😢

There really are no words to describe how much this video moves me. John really said it all, didn't he? It took guts to write a song with such simple, yet profound lyrics in the very early 70s. It's hard to believe the song was banned from airplay in many parts of the world. To hear Paul Rodgers' silky smooth, soul-drenched tenor on this song is like a big, warm hug for Humanity. There's one guy who sounds as good or better than ever! Just amazing!!
It was banned because it came across as Communist; and if we don't think more deeply about the lyrics and just take them literally, it still does. Which is a deception, that "Let's kill those false idols of humanity, religion and possessions!" but in truth what is suggested is ignorance of when such things happen to you in your real life - take away the ancient references, and people will not know the present for what it is... and will be open to manipulation any which way.
